Preventing Programs to Run on Startup

We usually prevent programs to run at startup using the msconfig (go to "run" then type msconfig). We can also prevent some programs to run at startup using the Registry Editor. Before editing the registry, be sure to have it backed up and have set system restore. Here's how we prevent programs to run at startup.

1. Navigate to : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

2. At the right pane, you will see listed programs that run at startup. You can remove a program or programs by simply clicking right on the program string value and choose delete.

3. Close the Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
