Hiding Drives using Group Policy

There are times you need to hide a drive in your computer or prevent other people from accessing it. This is very useful if the computer you are using can also be accessed by your co-worker or your family members and you wish they can't see the drive where the contents are or simply they won't be able to access a certain drive. That sounds so good right? You won't be needing any third party programs to do the trick! All you need to do is follow these simple instruction. And then later, you will be able to do the hiding and preventing access to your hard drive like a breeze.

A. Press Win+R, as the "run" box appears type in "gpedit.msc" without quotes.

B. The Group Policy window should now appear. Navigate to User Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\ Windows Explorer then on the Left Pane of the window search for " Prevent Access to Drives in My Computer " and click radio button on "Enabled" and below the options select the drive you wish to Prevent Access from using the Drop Down Menu and click "OK"

C. If you want to Hide a certain drive in My Computer, look for "Hide these specified drives in My Computer" which is just above the "Prevent Access to Drives in My Computer" option. Again, all you need to do is enable the option and choose the drive you wish to hide.
D. Press F5 Key and you should see the results immediately.

If you have problems with this, please comment. :-)
